Patricia Shields-Ramsay – Project Management, Coordination, Communications,

Patricia Shields-Ramsay, MEd is currently a principal with InPraxis Group Inc., and provides independent
resource development, project management, educational consulting, research and professional development
services. Patricia has a classroom teaching background and was also a sessional instructor with the
Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta for six years. Patricia has an extensive base of experience involving:

Patricia is an experienced project manager, who has completed a range of different learning focused projects
that have involved stages from initial needs assessment, research, conceptualization, writing, review and field
testing to design management and final production of resources. She has led the successful development of
several multi-media projects, including Building Communities through Local Government for Alberta Municipal
Affairs, which received the Gold Premier’s Award of Excellence.
In addition to managing, writing and producing the resources listed in this quotation, she contributed a number of
chapters to Making a Difference: Meeting Diverse Learning Needs with Differentiated Instruction,
a publication produced by the Alberta Ministry of Education and has designed and delivered sessions and webinars on
differentiating instruction, which has given her a solid base of expertise in the strategies used to address
differing learning needs.
Patricia has a solid grounding in educational research and a focus on best practice in learning and teaching
methodologies. She has completed research into what constitutes effective curriculum design and implementation.
She incorporates this knowledge into any resources and professional support she designs and develops.
Patricia has extensive experience working with teachers, schools and districts in the organization and delivery
of professional learning experiences related to instructional design and school improvement initiatives. Patricia
has delivered numerous training sessions and workshops on purposeful planning and curriculum implementation, best

Doug Ramsay – Research, Creative Conceptualization, Writing and Review Management
Doug Ramsay, MA was a teacher, consultant and administrator with the Calgary Board of Education in Alberta,
Canada for more than 25 years. He also worked as the Executive Director of Citizenship Matters, focusing on
citizenship education and promoting the need to rebuild a sense of community; locally, nationally, and
internationally. He currently is a principal with, and provides educational consulting, writing, research
and professional development services with InPraxis Group Inc. Doug has an extensive base of research and
implementation experience involving:
